Introduction:
Immune system is a very robust “antibody factory” that consistently produce antibodies to fight off infections and diseases by recognizing and targeting infected cells or pathogens (antigens). The emergence of Single Cell Antibody Technology has enabled new strategy for discovery of naturally occurring antibody drug from immune system. Distinct from the conventional hybridoma or phage display technology, the technology holds better promise for the coverage, the throughput, and most importantly avoids the disadvantage of unnaturally paired heavy and light antibody chain displayed by phage.
Our company has developed 2 routes in discovery single B cell antibody. The first method is based on the antigen-specific single B cells sorting by FACS, followed by RT-PCR amplification to obtain the target antibody sequence. The second method relies on the use of micropulator manipulator to select single B cell of interested, and then cultured for further characterization. With the two complementary methods and our other custom antibody discovery services, cost and time can be saved efficiently and the probability of finding successful antibody drugs is significantly improved as well.
